Hey guys, this is the only forum I know that offers help to players... I am thinking of buying a new gaming mouse for my new pc, at the moment I use a Microsoft Optical (no idea what model). I've heard of a mouse called is it Logitech G5? Any ideas what these things cost or another good mouse for gaming? Cheers - r i g g e r s

I am confused as why you would want a new mouse. (unless your old one broke?) my mouse cost me $10 nz its an optical mouse and works great for wolf. its two buttons and a scroll.
I think the mouse probably isn't that important. The only reason you would want to change is if you were getting one with adjustable sensitivity which would require getting use to.
One thing that you might need to upgrade though is your keyboard; anyone playing with one of the old ps/2 connected ones should ditch it. Get a usb one. ps/2 keyboards have a habit of not receiving any buttons you press after the first 3. So you could be running forward strafing and you couldn't press anymore buttons. :S I recommend the zboard as a usb one but any usb one will work. (zboard allows changing of keysets you have standard keyset and you can change to one which works perfect for fps gaming).
If you really want this mouse for some reason they are $90 nz. Logitech G3 is $64.00 nz. These prices don't include gst so it'll actually be a bit more.

He actually sells PCs / Mouses / Ketboards over internet, LoL ;D

Hi Riggers, dont know much about the names, but i have now a mouse with a laser, much better then with a ball lol ::) But maybe you mean that one by Optical lol. Its very good to slide trough wolf Just noticed thors comment. I want to point out that there is a difference between optical and laser. Optical is what most people have. Laser is much higher precision. Gaming mice and drawing/artistic mice are laser mice. Average desktop mouse is optical. An easy way to tell whether your mouse is optical or laser is place it on a black surface. If the pointer moves the same or better its laser if it jerks around is hard to move etc its optical. Most optical mice are about 800dpi. Laser ones are anywhere between about 2400-4000 dpi. Optical mice take photos with a miniature camera (i believe it has a fancy name that i cant remember). Laser mice probably work similarly to a cdrom drive. (bouncing lasers off and see what comes back ) An optical mouse is fine for most desktop users (+ gamers playing for fun) but if you want to get into like proffessional gaming leagues or are just crazy about performance and like to waste money on equipment you don't need (like me ) then you should be looking at a laser mouse. (You could go for a cheap laser mouse with only two buttons and a scroll whell but why would you when u can get a 5 button mouse with scroll + tilt wheel on-the-fly dpi switching etc etc like a G5, G9 or lachesis ) And paine how on earth do you manage to wreck even one mouse I still have mice that were used in the days you plug them into a serial port (i think they were my dads ;D )
